QI often receive a courtesy due notice which is sent to me prior to the due date, and I unintentionally shortened my loaning period by renewing right after receiving a notice. How do I identify the kinds of library notification email?

The notification email from the Library can be divided into two categories: courtesy due notice and overdue notice.

1.Courtesy due notice
i.  Courtesy due notice is sent by the Library 7 days before overdue to remind you to return or renew the borrowed item/s.
ii. The Library will send 2 more notifications as reminder for you to return or renew the borrowed item/s: 3 days prior to the due date, and a day before.
iii. The new loaning period starts on the day following the day of renewal, not from the original due date.
iv. Items cannot be renewed if another borrower has placed a hold on those items.

2.Overdue notices: The Library will send an overdue notice by email on 1st, 3rd, and 7th day after the due date, and a paper notice of long overdue at the end of each semester.

Be certain that the email you have in your profile is the correct one, so you can receive all notification emails and avoid any overdue fee from incurring.

Q:My laptop has a wireless internet card installed, but is unable to connect to the internet.

1.First, make sure the driver for the wireless internet card has been installed, and set your Wi-Fi to on.

2.Click the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom right of your computer screen, select the option with the strongest Wi-Fi connectivity, and connect.

3.If everything is set up correctly and you still cannot receive any signal, it may be that where you are located has a weak signal. Access points are located in the center of each floor. Theoretically speaking, further away from the floor center, behind a concrete pillar or a large covering could significantly reduce signal strength. To have the best connectivity, please relocate to the center of the floor, or consult a librarian.
